Türkiye's BIST 100 falls below 10K at Monday close

ANKARA (AA) — Türkiye's benchmark stock index closed Monday at 9,774.40 points, plunging 2.30% from the previous close.

Borsa Istanbul's BIST 100 index lost 229.98 points with a daily transaction volume of 110.5 billion liras ($3.07 billion).

The price of an ounce of gold was $2,864.96, while Brent crude oil sold for around $75.51 per barrel as of 6:24 p.m. local time (1524GMT).

The US dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate was 35.9780, the euro/lira exchange rate was 37.0713, and the British pound traded at 44.4721 liras.
