Türkiye's BIST 100 index down at close

Benchmark index drops 90.1 points at Tuesday's close

ISTANBUL (AA) – Türkiye's benchmark stock index ended the day at 6,605.04 points on Tuesday, down 1.35% from the previous close.

Starting the day at 6,721.45 points, Borsa Istanbul's BIST 100 index lost 90.1 points from the previous close.

The lowest value of the index during the day was 6,538.29, while its daily high was 6,724.52.

The total market value of BIST 100 was around 5.6 trillion Turkish liras ($209.7 billion) by market close, with a daily trading volume of 142 billion Turkish liras ($5.26 billion).

During the day, 23 stocks gained value while 75 lost.

The price of an ounce of gold was $1,965.05, while Brent crude oil sold for around $82.80 per barrel as of 6.25 p.m. local time (1525GMT).

The US dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate was 26.9390, the euro/lira exchange rate was 29.7780, and the British pound traded at 34.6310 Turkish liras.
