Türkiye's BIST 100 index down at midweek close

ISTANBUL (AA) - Türkiye's benchmark stock index ended Wednesday at 12,369.89 points, down 0.13% from the previous close.

Starting the third transaction day of the week at 12,425.88 points, Borsa Istanbul's BIST 100 index lost 15.72 points from the previous close.

The index's lowest value during the day was 12,323.66, while its daily high was 12,444.49.

The total market value of BIST 100 was around 12.17 trillion Turkish liras ($282.7 billion), with a daily trading volume of 179.2 billion Turkish liras ($4.15 billion).

During the day, 54 stocks on the index fell and 43 rose compared to the previous close.

The price of an ounce of gold was $4,618.80, while Brent crude oil sold for around $65.55 per barrel as of 6.20 pm local time (1520GMT).

The US dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate was 43.1820, the euro/lira exchange rate 50.3650, while the British pound traded at 58.1240 liras.
