Türkiye's BIST 100 index ends midweek with gains

Benchmark index up 35.18 points at Wednesday's closing session

ISTANBUL (AA) - Türkiye's benchmark stock index closed Wednesday at 11,366.93 points, up 0.31% from the previous close.

After starting the day at 11,354.59, the BIST 100 index gained 35.18 points from its close on Tuesday.

The lowest point for the index was 11,133.23, while the daily high was 11,423.66.

During the day, 45 indexes gained in value while 54 closed with losses.

The daily transaction volume reached 167.8 billion Turkish liras ($4 billion), while the overall value of the index was 10.53 trillion liras ($254.8 billion).

The USD/TRY exchange rate was 41.4600 as of 6.20 pm local time (1520GMT), the euro/lira exchange rate stood at 48.7130, and the British pound traded at 55.8050.

The price of an ounce of gold was $3,755.20, while the barrel price of Brent oil was $68.10.
