Türkiye's BIST 100 index ends week on negative side

ISTANBUL (AA) - Türkiye's benchmark stock index ended the week at 10,642.60 points Friday, down 0.43% from the previous close.

Starting the day at 10,707.95 points, Borsa Istanbul's BIST 100 index dropped 46.45 points from Thursday's close.

The lowest value was 10,622.91, while the daily high was 10,722.97.

The market value of the BIST 100 was around 9.85 trillion Turkish liras ($243.9 billion), with a trading volume of 83.2 billion Turkish liras ($2.05 billion).

Some 37 stocks on the index rose and 62 dropped, compared to the previous close.

The price of gold was $3,333.70 per ounce, while Brent crude oil sold for $68.05 per barrel as of 6.20 pm local time (1520GMT).

The US dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate was 40.5525, and the euro/Turkish lira exchange rate was 47.6195, while the British pound traded for 54.5115 Turkish liras.
