Türkiye's BIST 100 index flat at Friday open

ANKARA (AA) - Türkiye's benchmark stock index opened at 4,754.57 points on Friday, slightly up by 0.05%, or 2.33 points, from the previous close.

On Thursday, Borsa Istanbul's BIST 100 index notched its eighth consecutive session of losses, rising 0.82% to 4,752.24, with a daily trading volume of 118 billion Turkish liras ($6.27 billion).

The US dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate was at 18.8244 as of 10.15 a.m. local time (0715GMT), the euro/lira exchange rate stood at 20.5267, while a British pound traded for 23.0017 liras.

Brent crude oil was selling for around $82.12 per barrel, while the price of an ounce of gold was $1,930.95.
