Turkiye's BIST 100 index flat at Tuesday's open

ISTANBUL (AA) - Turkiye's benchmark stock index opened at 2,449.34 points on the second transaction day of the week, up 0.01% from the previous close.

Borsa Istanbul's BIST 100 index was up 2.33% to close at 2,449.11 points on Monday, hitting a record-high close with a daily trade volume of 63.6 billion Turkish liras ($4.3 billion).

The US dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate fell to 14.6790 as of 10 a.m. local time (0700GMT), from 14.6910 at Monday's close.

The euro/lira exchange rate dropped to 15.9390 from 15.9930, while a British pound traded for 19.0920 liras, down from 19.1880 at the previous close.

Brent crude oil was sold for around $101.4 per barrel as of 10 a.m. local time, while the price of an ounce of gold was $1,957.70.
