Turkiye's BIST 100 index flat at weekly open

ANKARA (AA) - Turkiye's benchmark stock index opened at 2,419.93 points on Monday, marginally up by 0.70 point, or 0.03%, from the previous close.

Borsa Istanbul's BIST 100 index had been up 1.18% on Friday to close at 2,419.23 points with a daily trading volume of 31.8 billion Turkish liras ($2 billion).

The US dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate rose to 15.5000 as of 09.45 a.m. local time (0645GMT), from 15.4700 at last week's close.

The euro/lira exchange rate stood at 16.1200 versus 16.0350, while a British pound traded for 18.9580 liras, down from 18.9090 at the last close.

Brent crude oil was sold for around $110 per barrel as of 09.42 a.m. local time, while an ounce price of gold was at $1,804.34.
