Turkiye's BIST 100 index looking up at weekly open

ANKARA (AA) - Turkiye's benchmark stock index opened at 2,462.96 points on Monday, up by 7.24 points, or 0.17%, from the previous close.

Borsa Istanbul's BIST 100 index had been down 0.31% on Friday to close at 2,458.72 points with a daily trading volume of 39.5 billion Turkish liras ($2.6 billion).

The US dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate rose to 14.9758 as of 10.00 a.m. local time (0700GMT), from 14.9510 at last week's close.

The euro/lira exchange rate stood at 15.7232 versus 15.8220, while a British pound traded for 18.3667 liras, down from 18.4210 at the last close.

Brent crude oil was sold for around $111.63 per barrel as of 10 a.m. local time, while an ounce price of gold was at $1,870.74.
