Türkiye's BIST 100 index up at Thursday close

Benchmark index gains 147.32 points at closing session

ISTANBUL (AA) - The Turkish benchmark stock index closed Thursday at 10,727.58 points, up 1.39% from its previous close.

After starting the day at 10.625,38, the BIST 100 rose 147.32 points from Wednesday's close.

The lowest point for the index during the day was 10,625.38, while the daily high was 10,744.01.

On Thursday, 93 indexes gained in value, while five closed the day with losses.

The total transaction volume reached 132.8 billion Turkish liras ($3.62 billion), while the overall value of the index was 9.5 trillion liras ($260.4 billion).

The USD/TRY exchange rate was 36.6105 as of 6.40 pm local time (1540GMT), the EUR/TRY rate stood at 39.8310, and the GBP/TRY traded at 47.3740.

The price of gold was $2,977.20 per ounce, while the barrel price of Brent oil was $70.10.
