Türkiye's BIST 100 rallies at Wednesday close

ANKARA (AA) — Türkiye's benchmark stock index closed Wednesday with strong gains, reaching 4,943.18 points.

Starting the midweek at 4,803.11 points, Borsa Istanbul's BIST 100 index gained 131.73 points or 2.74% compared to the previous close.

The total market value of the BIST 100 was around 4 trillion Turkish liras ($210 billion) by market close, with a daily trading volume of 56 billion Turkish liras ($2.95 billion).

The price of an ounce of gold was $1,981.65, while Brent crude oil sold for around $77.58 per barrel as of 7.00 p.m. local time (1800GMT).
