Türkiye's Borsa Istanbul up at Tuesday open

ANKARA (AA) - Türkiye's benchmark stock index Borsa Istanbul opened at 3,072.06 points on Tuesday, up 0.31%, or 9.57 points, from the previous close.

The US dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate was up to 18.1221 as of 10 a.m. local time (0700GMT), from 18.1070 at the previous close.

The euro/Turkish lira exchange rate slipped to 17.9669 from 18.0600 , while a British pound traded for 21.2757 Turkish liras, down from 21.4390 at the previous close.

According to analysts, high inflation and low growth in leading global economies have made actions and guidance of central banks decisive for investor pricing.

Amid uncertainty over the US Federal Reserve’s next move, risk appetite remains low, analysts said, and domestic markets continue to diverge positively.

Meanwhile, Turkish consumer confidence index realized as 72.2 in August, up 6.1% compared to the previous month.
