Türkiye's budget balance posts surplus of $6.5B in November

Country's revenues amount to $20.9B, expenses at $14.4B, official data shows

ISTANBUL (AA) - Türkiye's budget balance posted a surplus of 108.3 billion Turkish liras ($6.5 billion) in November, up from 31.99 billion ($3 billion) in the same month last year.

According to the country's Treasury and Finance Ministry, the country's revenues totaled 347.7 billion Turkish liras ($20.9 billion) in the month, up 107.3% on a yearly basis.

The budget expenses amounted to 239.4 billion Turkish liras ($14.4 billion), increasing by 76.4% year-on-year in November.

The primary balance also posted a surplus of 132.7 billion Turkish liras ($7.99 billion) while interest expenses totaled 24.4 billion Turkish liras ($1.46 billion) in November.

In the first 11 months of this year, the budget saw a deficit of 20.5 billion Turkish liras ($1.25 billion), while the primary balance was at 272.2 billion Turkish liras ($16.6 billion).

The US dollar / Turkish lira exchange rate was at 16.6 in November 2022, 10.5 in November 2021, and 16.4 in the first 11 months of this year.
