Türkiye's capacity utilization falls to 74.4% in June

ISTANBUL (AA) - Turkey’s manufacturing capacity utilization rate declined by 0.7 percentage point in June —on a monthly basis— landing at 74.4%, according to a Turkish Central Bank survey released Tuesday.

The intermediate goods sector recorded the highest utilization this month at 75.1%, while the durable consumer goods industry had the lowest rate at 69.5%.

By subsector, tobacco product manufacturing led with 86.7% capacity use, in contrast to leather product manufacturing, which reported the lowest rate at 66%.

The capacity utilization rate figures are based on responses to a business tendency survey of local units operating in the manufacturing industry.

The Turkish Central Bank said 1,842 companies responded to the survey this month, adding that the data does not reflect the bank's views or predictions.
