Turkiye's cow milk production slips in Q1 2022
Integrated dairies collected just under 858,000 tons of cow milk between January-March, according to TurkStat

ANKARA (AA) – Turkiye's cow milk production decreased 3% year-on-year in the first quarter of this year, the country’s statistical authority said on Wednesday.
Integrated dairies collected 857,789 tons of cow milk between January and March, TurkStat data showed.
Drinking milk production saw an annual decrease of 10.1% to 376,597 tons.
A total of 175,405 tons of cheese were made in between January and March – 98% of it was from cow milk and the remaining from sheep, goat, buffalo and mixed milk.
Yogurt production by integrated dairies increased 2%, with 266,720 tons made in the year’s first quarter.
Output of the salty yogurt drink, ayran, saw a 25.8% annual jump to 173,206 tons.

According to data from the National Milk Council, Turkiye exported dairy products worth of $202.6 million in the January-March period, double of the figure in the first quarter of 2021.
Egypt, Algeria and Iraq were the top export markets for Turkish dairy products in the first quarter of 2022, the data showed.
