Goods deficit at $6.5B, services recorded $6.7B surplus in October

ISTANBUL (AA) - Türkiye’s current account balance registered a deficit of $359 million in October, while the gold and energy excluded account balance saw a surplus of $8.6 billion, according to official data released on Monday.
The goods deficit was at $6.46 billion in October, services saw a net surplus of $6.7 billion, while the travel item under services recorded a net inflow of $5.2 billion, the Turkish Central Bank said.
“The outflows from primary income recorded USD 652 million and secondary income indicated a net inflow of USD 54 million,” read a bank statement.
The deficit during the January-October period totaled $38.17 billion, the bank said.
Direct investments registered a net inflow of $743 million, it added.
