UAE expresses deep concern over US strikes on Iranian nuclear sites, calls for immediate de-escalation

ISTANBUL (AA) – The United Arab Emirates (UAE) voiced deep concern on Sunday over the ongoing regional tensions following US strikes on Iranian nuclear sites, calling for an immediate halt to escalation to avoid severe consequences.

In a statement, the UAE Foreign Ministry called for “an immediate cessation of escalation to prevent serious repercussions and the sliding of the region into new levels of instability.”

It emphasized “the necessity of prioritizing diplomacy and dialogue to resolve disputes through comprehensive approaches that achieve stability, prosperity, and justice.”

The UAE renewed its call for the international community to mobilize efforts toward a comprehensive solution to safeguard the region and its peoples from the scourge of conflicts.

US President Donald Trump said early Sunday that his forces bombed three Iranian nuclear sites in Fordo, Natanz and Isfahan.

The attacks came as the latest escalation in a US-backed Israeli military assault on Iran since June 13, prompting Tehran to launch retaliatory attacks on Israel.

Israeli authorities said at least 25 people have been killed and hundreds injured since then in Iranian missile attacks.

Meanwhile, in Iran, 430 people have been killed and more than 3,500 wounded in the Israeli assault, according to the Iranian Health Ministry.
