UK unemployment rate stands at 3.8% in February-April period

ANKARA (AA) – The unemployment rate in the UK stood at 3.8% during the February-April period of this year, according to the Office for National Statistics (ONS) estimates released on Tuesday.

The current rate is 0.2 percentage points lower than the previous three-month period, and 0.1 percentage points below the pre-coronavirus pandemic levels, the ONS said in a statement.

The employment rate is estimated at 75.6%, 0.2 percentage points higher than the previous three-month period, but 0.9 percentage points lower than that before the coronavirus pandemic, it added.

The UK economy saw 177,000 people employed in the February-April period, according to the ONS figures.
