US durable goods orders fall 1% in February, against expectation
Market estimate for figure was to show gain of 0.6%

ISTANBUL (AA) - US durable goods orders fell 1% in February, down for the third time in the last four months, according to official data released Friday.
New orders for manufactured durable goods dropped $2.6 billion to $268.4 billion, the US Commerce Department’s Census Bureau said in a report.
The figure for January was revised from a decline of 4.5% to a decrease of 5%.
The market estimate for the figure was to show a gain of 0.6% in February.
"Excluding defense, new orders decreased 0.5 percent. Transportation equipment, also down three of the last four months, drove the decrease, $2.6 billion or 2.8 percent to $89.4 billion," the report said.
