US household wealth rises to $148.8 trillion in Q1

Figure, however, down by 2.5% compared same period of last year

ISTANBUL (AA) - Total household wealth in the US rose to $148.8 trillion in the first quarter of this year, according to the Federal Reserve.

The figure is a $3 trillion, or 2%, increase from the previous quarter, as holdings of equities rose around $2.4 trillion, but real estate values fell approximately $600 billion, the figures showed Thursday.

Household wealth, however, was down by 2.5% compared to the same period of last year when it stood at a record high level of $152.6 trillion.

After falling to $147.2 trillion and $144.2 trillion in the second and third quarters of last year, respectively, household wealth slightly rose to $145.8 trillion in the fourth quarter of 2022.
