US not to release October inflation data
November data to include non-survey October inflation figures
By Dilara Zengin Okay
WASHINGTON (AA) - The US will not release data on consumer inflation for October, the Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) said Friday, citing the inability to collect data during the recent federal shutdown.
"BLS could not collect October 2025 reference period survey data due to a lapse in appropriations. BLS is unable to retroactively collect these data," it said about Consumer Price Index (CPI) figures in a revised data calendar following the government's reopening.
The statement noted that some indexes used non-survey sources instead of survey data, and that most non-survey figures for October would be released alongside the November data.
It also noted a planned delay in the release of November CPI data, now scheduled for Dec. 18 instead of Dec. 10.
The longest-running government shutdown in US history concluded Nov. 12. It disrupted the flow of economic data, including employment and real earnings
