US stocks end Tuesday mixed

ISTANBUL (AA) - US stocks ended Tuesday with mixed figures amid concerns related to the increasing inflation and interest rates.

The markets are dominated by concerns that the high interest rates and China's pandemic measures will harm economic growth.

Discussions that the tightening of monetary policies would have to become tougher in the face of increasing inflationary pressures became the focus of investors.

The blue-chip Dow Jones Industrial Average ended down 0.26%, or 84.96 points, at 32,160.

The S&P 500 rose 9.81 points, or 0.25%, to close at 4,001.

The tech-heavy Nasdaq increased almost 114.42 points, or 0.98%, to 11,737.

Turkiye's benchmark stock index Borsa Istanbul closed on Tuesday with gains, up 0.99% to 2,490.17 points.

Major European indices closed the second transaction day of the week with gains.
