“The prospects for building up economic cooperation are substantively considered. Confidence was expressed that the results of the Uzbek-Singapore business forum as part of the business program of the visit will serve to expand investment cooperation with leading companies in such areas as trade, logistics, innovation, energy, healthcare,” it said.

Mirziyoyev and Yacob exchanged views on regional and international issues, notably highlighting the high-level understanding and mutual support between Uzbekistan and Singapore at international platforms and the process of Tashkent’s accession to the World Trade Organization, it also noted.

The presidents later took part in a ceremony where the delegations of the two countries signed seven agreements on intergovernmental cooperation.

Yacob arrived in Uzbekistan on Tuesday following a visit to neighboring Kazakhstan, which marked the first-ever visit of a Singaporean president to a Central Asian nation.
